GET FRESH PROJECT (GFP)
The Get Fresh Project is a youth dance development program which was established by Elemental Force in April 2007 due to demand from children already attending short term, one off workshops within school’s and the surrounding community held by Elemental Force and now also CTC LTD.
We decided to run a pilot session in the Muni Art’s Centre Pontypridd, in partnership with Rhondda Cynon Taff Cultural Services, and soon realised that there was a high demand for developing Hip Hop dance culture within the Welsh Valley’s. Once this was recognised, our sessions were soon attracting a high number of students on a weekly basis.
This has now led to a successful youth dance group who actively represent the GFP program through showcases and competitions, and are known as GFP “Get Fresh Project”.
Despite this success, the Elemental Force – CTC LTD organisation continue to develop and grow, continuously searching for young people with an interest in acquiring and developing dance skills by regularly attending our sessions.
The Get Fresh Project is based on the principles of ‘each one teach one’, and promotes the mentality that being involved in this culture requires us to pass on any knowledge to anyone interseted in developing their skills. This ensures that Hip Hop culture is always observed as a positive gift and treated with respect!
The main purpose of our existence is to help build strong friendships, develop personal life skills and develop the next generation of dancers, potentially becoming professional members of SUP (Style Under Pressure) which is the BBOY showcase performance and battle squad within the organisation.
To become a member of the Get Fresh Project you must attend our Thursday session and commit to a graduation program that will require a good understanding of foundation and character.
Once graduated you will become a contender for the GFP battle and performance squad and earn the GFP uniform.
