Not only is he a dope mc he is also a house hold Hip Hop name in Wales.
Johnny Burgess is back with his first new solo material in a while. The Cardiff lyricist previously known as Johnny B is back with ‘Tomorrow’ on the Tarw du label; a straight up slice of conscious rap over boom-bap beats with a shameless nod to the nineties; a nod to the present and a nod to the future.
Johnny Burgess is one of the great contributors to the rap scene of Wales as well as further afield; he has previously won the Welsh music awards best Hip-Hop act, has won the listeners vote on BBC Radio 1Xtra and has also been a semi finalist at the MOBO unsung artist awards.
Johnny is well known as part of Keltech and Johnny B , has worked and collaborated with a myriad of artists from his home country, and has also supported some of Hip-Hop’s greatest legends live on stage; Ice T, Afrika Bambaataa, Grand Master Flash and Rodney P (London Posse) to name but a few.
His faivorate car is The Dukes of Hazzards ‘General Lee’. His faivorate holiday spot is Devon. His favorite food is lobster. This is where he’s to in 2011.
